We have taken a little break from blogging in December but will now be updating you every month again. This year will be a busy year for us, so follow along to see what we have been working on and what we have planned for the near future!
In December we worked on some improvements to increase the quality of our game and the player experience.
- You can now have multiple save files (a must, we know).
- Improved implementation of information pop-ups when you hover over certain UI elements.
- The speed up time function has been integrated better (every action/function that should be going faster when speeding up time, now does go faster).
- The decorations that emit lights are now more optimal, they are slightly less bright but you can now place many of them without causing any render problems.
We thought it might be time for a new trailer! The old trailer is quite outdated. A lot of art, light settings and general environment have changed and improved massively. We are figuring out how to best showcase our game and its features. The Eylanders can be a little camera shy so it’s still a work in progress.
A new workstation is done.Introducing: the planter station! You can place this workstation in a forest biome, it has a large circular area around it. This area is where the assigned Eylanders will plant new trees.
Our company Yvora has been a proud supporter of TreesForAll for multiple years now. They are an organisation that supports sustainable forestry projects all over the world. Besides helping to make the Netherlands greener, they’re also active in the rest of Europe and in developing countries. Since you will need wood to create new buildings in your town; you and the Eylanders will need to cut down trees. So inspired by TreesForAll we wanted to add the planter workstation as a counterpart. With the planter workstation, there is never a shortage of trees on your island. This will help you to keep the wood production pipeline flowing!
Many of the Eylanders might choose to wear a fancy or funny hat but if they don’t want to they now have
